Given his prior soccer experience he proved in the recent international games that he has the ability to contribute at this level for a long time."

Q & A with Bryce

When did you first begin playing soccer? I began playing when I was 6 years old.

How did you join the U.S. Paralympic Team? The former head coach for the paralympic track team saw me on a youth group trip.

What is your most memorable moment with the team? My most memorable moment is when my mom and sister got a chance to come to San Diego to watch the team train.

Who was your first soccer coach? I don't know the coach's name, but it was with Pride Soccer.

What do you feel is your strength as a player? My athletic ability and speed.

What do you feel is your weakness as a player? Playing the ball over distance with my left foot.

Which professional or international soccer player is your role model? Cristiano Ronaldo.

What have you learned about yourself from your time with the team? My disability can't stop me from playing sports and competing at a high level.

How has playing with the team positively affected your life? It's given me a chance to travel the world, and given me a goal to work towards.

Which college are you attending, or graduated, if any? I plan to attend UCCS in the fall of 2009.

What is your area of study, or which major, or degree did you obtain? Physical Education Teacher or Business Management.

Since the team is not a full-time job, what do you do full-time? I am currently a senior in high school and working part time at an auto parts store.

What is your goal in life? What dreams do you have? What do you want to attain in life? I want to graduate college, find a job I love, and start a family.

If you had enough money to do whatever you wanted to the rest of your life, what would you spend your time doing? I would like to never work, and travel the world.

Which person has been the most influential and motivational in your life? My mom.

Who is(are) your role model(s) outside of soccer? My mom, dad, and my youth pastor.

Who was your favorite teacher in school and why? Mr. Nichols because he made everything we did fun, and he had a great sense of humor.

What are some obstacles you've encountered in your life and how did you overcome them? I had to use braces and be in a cast to walk, but I persevered and no longer need either.

Can you share a little bit about your family? Brothers, sisters? I live with my mom, dad, one brother, and one sister. My mom is a nurse, and my dad is a cop. My sister is a great soccer player, and my brother enjoys the guitar.

Of all the places you have traveled or lived, where is your favorite place? Hawaii is truly a tropical paradise, but China was a unique culture experience.

If you could turn back time and change one decision in your past, what would it be? I am happy with my life and wouldn't change anything.

If we were casting the movie of your life, which actor would you pick to play you? Me ... who else?

If you could have one superhero power, what would it be? Invisibility.

Do you play any musical instruments? Nope.

If you had to choose only ten CDs to listen to for the next three years, what would they be? Rock and I just use my ipod.

Are you artistic? I'm only artistic if you like abstract art.

Who is your favorite artist, or favorite type of art? Do you have a favorite work of art? I don't know that much about art.

What would you tell someone so that they had a better understanding of your disability and what it means to you? It's only a physical disability that affects coordination and such. It's just a condition, and I don't let it slow me down.

What is your favorite quotation? "Impossible is nothing"

Of which accomplishments in your life (excluding soccer) are you most proud? Doing Philmont, which is a sixty mile backpacking trip.
