PERSONAL PROFILE
Mike Haas' playing career began at Skyline Junior College in San Bruno, Calif., before transferring to Colorado College (NCAA) in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he was named 2nd and 1st Team All-Far-West Selection in consecutive years, and graduated with a degree in Administration of Justice.
Haas went on to play professionally for three years one year with the Dallas Tornadoes (NASL) and two years with the Denver Avalanche (MISL).
He started coaching in 1987 for the Northglenn Soccer Club and later worked as the assistant coach for the Colorado Foxes (APSL). He began work with Colorado Youth Soccer (CYS) in 1992 and began his second term in 2005. He was named CYS Coach of the Year in 1991. Between his two terms with CYS Haas was the assistant coach for the U-16 Men's National Team, U-14 Boys' National Team, and U-23 Men's Olympic Team, and was also a national staff coach for U.S. Soccer for eight years. In 1999 he was on the Women's FIFA World Cup Technical Committee for the U.S. Soccer, and was also the head scout of the U.S. Women's National Team for the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup in China. Haas is currently a member of the U.S. Soccer instructional staff and is the General Manager for the Colorado Storm Soccer Association.
Haas holds his USSF "A" License, U.S. National Youth License, Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA, and Diploma of FA Brazil. He is currently works with U.S. Soccer National Staff Symposiums giving lectures and teaches coaching license courses for U.S. Soccer. Haas became assistant coach of the U.S. Paralympic Soccer Team in 2003.
He's married and has two children.
