Q & A with MOISES
When did you first begin playing soccer? I started playing with the City of Chula Vista Indoor Soccer at the age of 8 with my older brother Charly.
How did you join the U.S. Paralympic Team? I started attending the NSCD Program with Dana Schoenwetter.
What is your most memorable moment with the team? When I went to camp for the very first time I was excited to train with the team.
Who was your first soccer coach?
My mother. Indoor soccer.
What do you feel is your strength as a player?
I like soccer and I am always willing to learn to become a better player.
What do you feel is your weakness as a player?
Not being able to hit a soccer ball with my left leg.
Which professional or international soccer player is your role model?
Josh McKinney.
What have you learned about yourself from your time with the team?
That on the field everybody plays like a team and the team becomes a part of family.
What would you tell a young player to motivate them to play the game of soccer?
It's a fun game and anyone can play any sport if the really want to.
How has playing with the team positively affected your life?
I am playing with kids who have the same disabilities just like me.
Since the team is not a full-time job, what do you do full-time?
I go to school and live with my mother, father, and brothers.
What is your goal in life? What dreams do you have? What do you want to attain in life?
I will finish high school and go to college. I still don't know my major.
If you had enough money to do whatever you wanted to the rest of your life, what would you spend your time doing?
Playing soccer and helping kids with disabilities like me to find the sport they like.
Which person has been the most influential and motivational in your life?
My mom.
Who is(are) your role model(s) outside of soccer?
My older brother, my mom and dad.
Who was your favorite teacher in school and why?
Miss Gantz, because she would give me help when I needed it.
What are some obstacles you've encountered in your life and how did you overcome them?
When I first started riding a bike at the age of seven.
Can you share a little bit about your family? Brothers, sisters?
I live with my three brothers, Charles, Josaihas, Isahi, and my baby sister Janna. We all have the same sport, soccer.
Of all the places you have traveled or lived, where is your favorite place?
San Diego, California.
If you could turn back time and change one decision in your past, what would it be?
To be able to use my left hand 100%.
If we were casting the movie of your life, which actor would you pick to play you?
Antonio Banderas.
If you could have one superhero power, what would it be?
Super speed.
Do you play any musical instruments?
No.
If you had to choose only ten CDs to listen to for the next three years, what would they be?
Reggaeton.

My favorite artist is Will Smith.
What would you tell someone so that they had a better understanding of your disability and what it means to you?
The left side of my body has a weakness which does not allow me to perform to 100% capacity.
